Behind a career-high from Destanni Henderson and a “casual” double-double from Final Four Most Outstanding Player Aliyah Boston, South Carolina showed exactly why they were the No. 1 team in the country in every single Associated Press poll vote this season — preseason to postseason — and capped it off with a 64-49 win over UConn.
And yes, after he called his shot on this after the first game of the season over at The IX, Dawn Staley agrees with Howard’s assessment back then that this South Carolina team is her best.
Howard Megdal mentions that as he took us on a journey live from the Final Four court — where he not only got his photo taken while recording this podcast live, but he found some friends like Jonathan Tannenwald from The Philadelphia Inquirer and Lindsay Gibbs from Power Plays (which is a must-read always).
