The WNBA announced Wednesday that additional college and university players have officially requested inclusion as candidates in the 2022 WNBA Draft presented by State Farm. The draft is scheduled for April 11 on ESPN at 7 PM ET at Spring Studios, New York.

Due to the recent decisions of players to opt into the draft — in addition to two players having rescinded their prior decision to opt-in the draft—the total number of draft prospects is 108. The two players to rescind their decision are Anastasia Hayes of Mississippi State and Brie Perpignan of Elon. A complete list of the available prospects can be found here.
In 2021, the NCAA granted each winter-sport student athlete one extra year of NCAA eligibility. This decision was made due to complications caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, leaving many players with an extra year of eligibility.
To be a candidate in the 2022 WNBA draft, it is not necessary for players who have exhausted all eligibility to forfeit NCAA eligibility, including the extra year granted due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Only those with eligibility remaining were required to do so. Eligible international players additionally need not opt into the NCAA 2022 Draft in order to be selected.
Players whose college teams were still active after March 28 were given 48 hours after the conclusion of their final game in order to renounce any remaining NCAA eligibility. Upon renouncing this eligibility, these players could then declare themselves available for the 2022 WNBA Draft.
On April 11, WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert will announce the draft picks for the 2022 WNBA Draft live on ESPN. Exclusive coverage for the draft will commence at 7 PM ET. The draft will additionally be available live on the ESPN app.
The top pick in the 2022 WNBA Draft presented by State Farm is owned by the Atlanta Dream, who acquired it from the Washington Mystics this week.
