Daily Briefing — May 13, 2022: More questions in Minnesota

Lynx have only six available players on roster
Happy Friday! Welcome to The Next’s Daily Briefing, featuring the W Roundup and daily Watch List. Day six of the WNBA is here, following what would have been a nice day off from WNBA antics — but for Minnesota jettisoning Angel McCoughtry and Odyssey Sims and also all of their hardship contracts. McCoughtry was on a protected contract, so the Lynx had to buy her out. Sims was added less than two weeks ago, looked washed in her time on the court, and didn’t play in Minnesota’s Tuesday game due to “a personal matter.” The hardship contracts didn’t have to be released, so as of right now there are only six healthy and available Lynx. And now Rennia Davis has been cut twice by the team that was so excited to draft her!

Minnesota: Bought out wing Angel McCoughtry, waived point guard Odyssey Sims, released the hardship contracts of wing Rennia Davis, combo guard Yvonne Turner, and big Nikolina Milić. Also signed wing Evina Westbrook to a hardship contract.
