Hillmon on adjusting to a level of competition where she does not immediately dominate:
It was a lot of talking to myself, honestly. Making sure that I always stay ready. Obviously [the WNBA season] is condensed. A lot of games, and not as many people on your team as [in college] … Whenever my number is called, to be ready

Hillmon on playing in the WNBA more than two decades after her mother, NaSheema Anderson, had just 15 games in the ABL before it folded:
She’s just one of my biggest supporters, so much in high school, college and professionally, because she’s done it all. And honestly gave up her professional career to have a family. So, you know, just because of her sacrifices that she made before I was born. … Her commitment to me for so many years, she’s been to so many games … definitely a tribute to her.
