The Minnesota Lynx have advanced to the WNBA semifinals with a narrow 80-79 win over the Phoenix Mercury in the second round of the 2020 playoffs. Minnesota Lynx forward Damiris Dantas continued her excellent form this season, finishing with 22 points, eight rebounds and two assists in the win.
Diana Taurasi scored a game-high 28 points to go along with nine assists, but it was not enough to launch Phoenix into the next round.
In her first playoff game, Rookie of the Year Crystal Dangerfield finished with 17 points and three rebounds while veteran Odyssey Sims contributed 14 points and four assists on Thursday night.
Minnesota will face either the Seattle Storm or Las Vegas Aces in a best-of-five semifinals series, which begins on Sunday.
