Coach Brenda Frese talks about the most significant thing she continues to see at Maryland:
“I think the biggest thing we continue to see is we’re very fortunate. I’m grateful to have had the consistency and the time here in Maryland. But the fact that we are a consistent national power program, we’ve done really well in the portal. And this offseason was no different and when you talk about a Lavender Briggs that came in from Florida, an SEC player over Christmas is a huge player for us to be able to get.”
Brenda Frese talks about Diamond Miller’s future at Maryland:
“The number of WNBA coaches and scouts we’ve had in and it’s only October into practices are because of Diamond. And they’ve come in and spent intentionally a lot of days to be able to evaluate. And I love the fact Diamond has been through so much. She was a shell of herself last season with that injury. She battled and persevered. We tried to rest her, we tried to play through it and she did everything she possibly could.
You could noticeably tell there was a difference with the offseason. And now she is back to 100% Diamond, her lift or explosiveness or speed or the ability to score and defend. And no question, she should be a top-five draft pick.”
