Megdal and Roberts open the show by talking about Roberts’s approach to the team during the offseason. Megdal asks Roberts what she spends the summer thinking about, and Roberts explains, unsurprisingly, that access and hours in the summer are limited. “But we’re able to do it,” Roberts says. “We’re figuring out what we have … get a chance to see them in the gym and coach them up a little bit, and get a confirmation of, oh wow, maybe they can do this well.”

Later on, Megdal and Roberts discuss Roberts’s approach to recruiting. “There’s very much intentionality to it,” Roberts says. She goes onto explain that “the portal is not something I like to solely rely on, but it is a good resource when you have a need.” Roberts goes onto explain how she and the rest of her team scored two transfers in the portal in the spring, Chyra Evans and Mayé Touré. “I’m really excited about these two, I think they’re gonna help us a lot.”

Megdal and Roberts close out the show by exploring Utah’s transition to the Big-12. “To be completely honest, I don’t really know how it’s all going to look,” Roberts says. “There’s a learning curve for all of us, it’s going to be new. … But I’m choosing to look at that as a fun thing.”
