The WNBA Draft 2023 is scheduled for Monday, April 10 at 7 p.m. ET, the league announced Thursday afternoon. Presented by State Farm, ESPN will provide live coverage of the draft with WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert announcing the draft picks.

“Following an enormously successful 2022 season and with a fascinating off-season filled with significant trades and free agent signings, what better way to continue ramping up the momentum for the tip-off of our 27th season than with WNBA Draft 2023 presented by State Farm,” WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert said in a press release. “With the continued support of ESPN, State Farm, and associate partners SAP and U.S. Bank, we anticipate hosting a truly memorable evening for WNBA teams and fans and, especially, for the incredible athletes for whom this night represents the launch of the next phase of their basketball journey, and the realization of a dream come true.”
The formal tip-off will be held at Spring Studios New York in Manhattan. The draft night festivities will include WNBA’s iconic “Orange Carpet” which showcases the unique personalities of all the prospects. Prior to that, they will visit the Empire State Building for a lighting ceremony to commemorate the draft.
The WNBA will launch “Draft Central” on wnba.com in March which will allow fans to access various elements in the days leading up to the draft. It will include an interactive Draft Board; Prospect profiles with insights powered by SAP; in-depth features on the top draft prospects; coverage of all draft events; and more. Fans will also gain access to content across @WNBA channels with an array of unique stories and personalities of the prospects through Instagram, Tik Tok, a Twitter Spaces Mock Draft Debate, cross-platform live coverage including the “Orange Carpet,” and lots more.
The rights of the top pick in the WNBA Draft 2023 are with the Indiana Fever. The WNBA’s 27th regular season tips off on Friday, May 19.
