Though all 12 teams will make an appearance in those games, the New York Liberty (9) and Las Vegas Aces (7) will lead the way with scheduled appearances. From a primetime WNBA All-Star game to the return of Brittney Griner and expanded WNBA Countdown, ESPN’s buy-in is larger than ever (while still far below NBA Summer League, of course.)

To open the season on May 19 at 11 PM ET, Griner will make her highly-anticipated return to the basketball court. She will join Diana Taurasi, who signed a two-year agreement to return to the Phoenix Mercury, to take on the Los Angeles Sparks. New signees Azurá Stevens and Jasmine Thomas will run the floor with Nneka Ogwumike for the first time for L.A.

Also, opening weekend will see the new backcourt of Allisha Gray and Rhyne Howard for the Atlanta Dream as they face off against the Dallas Wings at 1 PM ET. Diamond DeShields and Natasha Howard will join forces with Arike Ogunbowale, who has been one of the top leading scorers since she came into the league.

Jewell Loyd and the Seattle Storm will then take on the reigning champion the Las Vegas Aces. With the addition of Candace Parker, the Aces seek to set the tone for their season on May 20 on ABC at 3 PM ET.

Breanna Stewart joins a loaded lineup with Sabrina Ionescu, Courtney Vandersloot, and Jonquel Jones on the New York Liberty. The Liberty will have nine games broadcast across ESPN platforms this season. Fans will get to see the Las Vegas Aces and the Liberty face off four times in the regular season. Their matchup on August 6 will air on ABC on August 6 at 3 PM ET.

The 2023 All-Star weekend will air the skills challenge and 3-point contest on ESPN, on Friday, July 14 at 4 PM ET. No longer an afternoon game, the All-Star game will air on ABC on Saturday, July 15 at 8:30 PM ET.

For the second season in a row, all postseason games, up to another 27 depending on the length of each series, will be nationally broadcast on the ESPN family of networks.
