Jenkins discusses her journey and expectations for the upcoming season

Jenkins, a standout forward for UTSA, discusses her journey and expectations for the upcoming season. Despite missing 11 months due to a knee injury, Jenkins returned to play 12 games last year, showcasing her effectiveness at the rim with a 62% shooting percentage. She credits her consistent play to her AAU background.
“I think the reason why you can say I’m so consistent around the room is just, growing up, I played on the same AAU team since I was like, in third grade to ninth grade,” Jenkins said on the podcast. “So I had a lot of chemistry with my teammates, and I feel like that allowed me to just be comfortable and play however. … I just think I really strive and thrive off of consistency.”
Also in the podcast, Jenkins discusses her decision to transfer to UTSA to play for Coach Aston.
“Ultimately, I wanted something different for myself … a lot of different coaches were reaching out to me. But Karen Aston reaching out to me was different and her recruiting process was different. And like, I felt her vision, and I felt that she wanted what was going to be best for me, and it’s the exact same now, two years later, and she cares about everybody on the team,” Jenkins said.
