Can they make a final push for the 2023 WNBA Playoffs? Missy and Tony said their success starts with the front office rebuild that brought general manager Lin Dunn and Sides, the Fever’s first-year coach into the mix.
“Christie Sides probably runs 10 miles a game. She is flying up and down the sidelines and she’s jumping to contest shows when her team wants to and she literally pulls players off the bench when she wants them to check in the game,” Tony said. “That kind of energy is what they need because you follow the leader in that way as a young team.”
In segment two, they turned their attention to Boston and discussed Tony’s recent story on her development this season for the Fever.
“A big part of her growth and what her teammates have talked about is how much better she’s gotten at handling doubles in the pros which is funny because the first conversation I ever had with her after she got introduced to Fever media was that she was so excited that she wouldn’t get doubled anymore at South Carolina,” Tony said. “As she has done for her whole basketball career, she figured it out very quickly and now her passing has improved since the break and they’re allowing her to explore her jump shot a little more.”
