Heidrick and Northam open the show by discussing the new look of the ACC, specifically the new coaches that are coming to the conference. Heidrick specifically asks Northam about the future of Virginia Tech, who have been at the top of the ACC for the last few years and have a new coach at the helm. “I definitely think it’s gonna be hard for Virginia Tech this season in terms of measuring up against what they’ve been,” Northam says. “They’re definitely gonna take a step back. Last year they won the regular season title. The year before they were in the final four. Are they still a tournament team?”

Later on, Heidrick and Northam look at a poll that ranks the top ten ACC women’s basketball teams. The poll puts Notre Dame at the top, and Heidrick wonders, “how do they survive for a little while without Maddy Westbeld,” the Fighting Irish forward who is dealing with injuries. “Yeah, I think Notre Dame got the overwhelming majority of first place votes, and yeah, they have the best back court on paper in the country,” Northam says. “But yeah, Westbeld going down, that’s a bummer for them. They’re dealing with injuries in the front court. But it seems like Westbeld is gonna play at some point this season.”
