Locked On Women’s Basketball: Inside the Rookie of the Year race

Chloe Peterson: 'I see a lot of people comparing Angel and Caitlin head-to-head, and I don't think that's fair'

Powell and Peterson open the show by discussing this season’s competition between the Fever and the Sky. “These games have always kind of been chippy,” Peterson says. “… You add that rivalry, whether its media-manufactured or not, between Caitlin and Angel, and this is the closest team to Indianapolis … and two of these three games have been determined by one point.” Needless to say, the face-offs between the Fever and the Sky have lived up to expectations this season.

Later on, Powell and Peterson dive into the Rookie of the Year race between the Fever’s Caitlin Clark and the Sky’s Angel Reese. “I see a lot of people comparing Angel and Caitlin head-to-head, and I don’t think that’s fair,” Peterson says. “Angel’s obviously a forward, and Caitlin’s a guard … so you can’t really compare those things head-to-head … I like to see it as, you know, kind of who had the most impact on the team’s record.”

Powell closes out the show by asking Peterson who she thinks has earned the Rookie of the Year award. “I obviously watch Caitlin more than Angel, that’s just the nature of my job,” Peterson explains. “But when it comes to all the records, [Clark] stands out to me as the most outstanding player at this point.”
