“I take pride in my defense. I try and make that my staple,” Hidalgo said. “I think it started from when I was younger, just being the smallest person on the court, I had to bring something different to the game, and so I really always have taken pride in my defense. Hidalgo later touched on becoming the face of Notre Dame in an NIL deal with New Era.

“It’s honestly such a blessing to be in the position that I’m in. With this new NIL space, it’s so big and it’s such a monumental movement,” she said. “I was in high school when it just started to become something into now [seeing] how far it’s grown is something that’s so tremendous because we weren’t able to make money off of our name through things like that. Us bringing so much revenue to the school, I think athletes deserve to be able to make money off of who they are. Me being one of the faces honestly again, truly a blessing because I’m able to make money off of who I am.”
